People are afraid of these sharks because they are so large.

Hammerhead sharks got their name because of the shape of their heads. These sharks are nearly four meters long. They usually live in temperate waters.

Blue sharks are usually found in warm waters of the Atlantic Ocean. These sharks have long bodies and they are dark blue. That is how they got this name. Blue sharks feed on fish.

White sharks are found in waters deeper than 1100 meters. They are not really white. The underside of the body is white, but they upper side is more grey or blue. Sometimes, they upper side is almost black. White sharks can be very long. They can reach the length of seven meters. There have been reports on white sharks that were even longer.

Many stories have been told about these predators. There have been some great researches related to sharks. Some species are endangered and efforts are being made in order to save these creatures.
